Canadian Differential Global Positioning System (CDGPS)
The purpose of this MOA is to establish an agreement between Canadian Council on Geomatics (CCOG) partners (referred to as "The Participants") engaged in the development and delivery of the Canadian Real-Time GPS Correction Distribution Service for all GPS users in Canada, hereinafter referred to as the Canada-wide DGPS Service. The initial goal of the new service is to provide continuous, 24-hour by 7-day a week, GPS corrections over the Canadian mobile communications satellite (known as MSAT-1) , for all of Canada, for a period of up to four (4) years and beginning operational broadcast by April 1, 2001. These corrections will be based on NRCan’s Real-time GPS Corrections (GPS·C) data. Actual development will precede the service and shall commence on the signing of this agreement by all participants. These corrections will enable Canadian GPS users to achieve 1-10 metre level positioning (or better) for a myriad of applications – from surveying and mapping to smart agriculture and fleet / asset management, all in relation to the national spatial reference system standard.
