Nova Scotia Web Co-ordinate Transformation Service

In conjunction with GeoConnections, Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations (SNSMR) is undertaking a project to design and create a web-based co-ordinate transformation service for the province that will allow map makers to convert datasets from one set of co-ordinates to another. This is a necessary step in being able integrate and overlay maps and still have the features in the map align.

SNSMR will provide this service through the GeoNOVA Portal to help ensure that accurate map standards are used by all map providers. This new service will offer tools to the user community that perform map co-ordinate transformation and are built upon the architecture and endorsed standards of the Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure.
