Framework Tiling Service

Under investigation
Description

The Framework Tiling Service provides a mechanism to piece together geographically contiguous portions of a Framework Data layer. Given two or more contiguous pieces of a Framework Data layer, this service will produce a single amalgamated dataset that matches the Framework Data specifications.

This service uses access information found in the Metadata for Geodata.

Other Info

This service assumes prior knowledge of the existence of adjacent tiles of a framework data layer, and an ability to access copies of those adjacent tiles. This service applies to CGDI framework data that meets the standard specifications. Framework data layers are defined in the CGDI Framework Data Definition. This service is not a heartbeat service, but it is a high-availability service. It will not be accessed by most clients or users of the infrastructure, but rather by a select few organizations that provide regional or national snapshots of framework datasets for the general users of the CGDI framework datasets.
