Okanagan

The Okanagan Nation Alliance (ONA) is a tribal council representing seven member bands and 69,000 square kilometres of traditional territory. Major natural resource initiatives have been launched within the ONA to address sustainability, endangered environments and cultural issues. A GIS infrastructure across all eight Okanagan partners is seen as a key component in bringing the separate initiatives together for comprehensive management of the Okanagan Basin. This project will help develop GIS capacity in the tribal council and member bands while mapping traditional northern boundaries.
