      <description>ESRI's article "Canadian National Road Network Defines State of the Art for National Datasets" highlights the significance of data-sharing throughout the progress of the National Road Network (NRN) project to its current 2.0 version, summarizing the improvements made on some of the challenges that came up along the way.  The focus has been shifted to include the growing importance of establishing connections between the provinces, territories, and private partners to upgrade information to a more detailed level.  Notably, it is the maintenance and upkeep of the project's geometric data that takes precedence in the second version, as well as the addition of address ranges, street names, and place names data.</description>
